History
Born in a very small hyena clan in the time after Scar's reign, Jasiri never knew life touched by the ways the followers of Scar did. She and her sister, Madoa, were raised a bit differently from the hyenas that had followed Scar. They were taught to respect the Circle of Life, as any animal should, and were also taught about what animals they generally wanted to avoid. That included being taught that lions were not likely going to take kindly to them. Jasiri at least could understand that much, but when she was a bit younger she did venture out to the pridelands once to try and get an idea of what it was like. But like any other hyena, she was told to leave. From then on, she understood there was a deep seeded prejudice toward hyenas that likely wasn't about to change.
Everything changed one day when the leader of the Lion Guard, Kion, wound up lost in the outlands where Jasiri lived. Initially, she was a bit antagonistic toward him and insisted she wanted him out of her territory. But when he wound up going the wrong way, Jasiri did at least try to steer him the right way. ...Not before getting a laugh at his expense, though. After she helped him out of a thorny bush, though, she realized that he might need help and offered a paw to help him. Over time, the two of them came to understand one another and realize that not all hyenas and lions were bad. Once Jasiri helped Kion get back, he helped her in return by saving her from Janja and his clan. From there, she didn't think that he would be seeing her again.
Again, things changed when a group of lions came and took her family's watering hole. Desperate, Jasiri went to the pridelands and sought Kion's help. With his help, she was able to reclaim the watering hole that was lost and showed him that not all lions could be reasoned with like he thought they could. Jasiri still largely stuck around the outlands after that, but with trouble brewing she at least wanted to mention it to Kion if she saw trouble.

Jasiri didn't often wander from the outlands to the desert, but food had been a bit hard to find back home that day and she wanted to try her luck elsewhere. When in doubt, always check the hot lands for reptiles. Dark paws carried Jasiri through the sandy land, and she kept her eyes peeled for a meal. As she walked, though, the heat started to get to her. Her tongue slid out of her mouth and her ears drooped a bit. This was primarily why she didn't come out this far. The heat at this time of day got pretty intense, and even for a tough hyena it could be a bit much. That was why, when she saw the little oasis ahead of her, Jasiri was pretty relieved. Finally! A bit of water would help to make this hunt a little easier, she thought. The young hyena loped on ahead, and she reached the oasis...
...Right in time to see that there was a lioness nearby. Her reflection was right there next to Jasiri's own, and the water was rippling. It was all too clear that this lioness had been drinking. The groan wasn't missed. Jasiri shook her head slightly, and she leant down to get a drink of her own. Moments later, she looked back up and smirked.
"Relax. I'm not looking for a fight," Jasiri said. "Just here for the same reason as you. I just need a bit of water and I'll be on my way. Desert's free for all, after all." A soft chortle followed. She didn't think she'd done anything to potentially provoke Korokoni in any way. If she had, though, then Jasiri might have been in a bit of trouble. Korokoni was much older than Kion and the other lions she'd met... At least outside of Zira and the other lionesses in her pride. The disadvantage here was that Jasiri didn't know what Korokoni was like. This lion might have had a prejudice toward hyenas, and she might not have. She'd just have to see.
