History
Kituko and his siblings were born in the Outlands during Scar's reign, where the abundant termites provided them with an ample diet, even when a severe drought swept across the neighboring Pridelands. The small family prospered despite the desolation of their surroundings, until the fateful day that Simba returned, and drove the hyenas and Scar's loyalists from the Pridelands. A group of hyenas, fleeing their defeat, came across the small family, and managed to catch and kill Tanga, while her children fled, each splitting off and going their own ways.
Alone for the first time in his life, Kituko warily returned to the Outlands for a short time, before deciding to leave after finding that Scar's loyalists had been banished there. While lions didn't usually hunt his kind, this lot looked to be aggressive sorts, so he decided it was wise to seek a home elsewhere.
Finding that he could wander rather freely in the Pridelands, he traveled in and out of Simba's domain as his whimsy demanded, never content to stay too long in one place. When faced with hyenas, or other creatures who might want to make a meal out of him, he found he could generally flee towards lions, or among the feet of a large herd of buffalo, zebras, elephants, or whatever he managed to find, and make his escape.
While he has heard about rumors of various prides of lions starting to show signs of aggression towards one another, he generally paid them no heed. The affairs of lions weren't his business, after all.
Family Tree
Unknown father, Tanga (Mother; Deceased) Azizi (Brother) Chiku (Sister)
Sample Post
Kituko's large ear swiveled around as he listened carefully to his surroundings. There was a large beetle somewhere nearby, beneath the ground. And, for the time being, there weren't any heavyweights around to distract him. Some animals might tease him about how big his ears were, but not even the great elephants could hear so well as he could. He could hear ants scurrying, after all.
But it wasn't to last, unfortunately. He grimaced slightly as he heard the sound of footsteps nearby. Craning an ear, he relaxed a bit as he heard the faint footfalls of a hunting lioness. She was close enough that he could hear her heartbeat,so he stayed very still, and waited for her to pass. He peeked through the grass just in time to see the tip of her tail going by, and he was briefly tempted to reach out a paw and bat at it, and give her a good start. But prudence won out.
Anger the wrong lion, and you're as good as dead, he mused to himself as he went back to listening out for that beetle.
