Born to a prideland lioness, Ijamba was named so because he was born with many an extra toe on his paw. His mother loved him anyway despite being slightly embarrassed by the strange, clumsy cub.
Ijamba learned early he was a freak and figured he could gain some friends by being a follower. However, during Scar’s reign his mother took him away to the outlands to escape Scar’s rule. She died out there and the cub was left alone. He grew up on the outskirts of the outlands, living on mice and meerkats.
