The Sky Council
The Bearded Vulture, commonly called a fire bird by the prestigious De Falsis Deis pride have coexisted for centuries with the lions. With a complex hierarchy system, they are similar in religion as their neighbors, actually believing in the same gods. Atop the highest peak is where their colony, the Sky Council roosts. The birds are led by a Chieftain with many other assorted ranks. They are regarded as being sent from the gods themselves by the De Falsis Deis, therefore dubbing them sacred among them. The Bearded Vulture has a similar opinion of the lions; they have seen them as a provider and guardian for many generations. The lions have provided them with food to scavenge while also deterring other predators from feasting upon them. It’s uncalculated the time when the vultures and the lions had actually made a pact but all is known is that the vultures and De Falsis Deis are united in some ways. It’s not uncommon to approach the entrance of the lion’s territory and see crimson eyes staring from afar.
In their customs and agreements with the lions, when the previous Messenger dies another will be given to the pride specially to raise it with the parents. An ancient tradition for the kings, to the birds it’s the highest honor to have one of theirs serve the lions, their guardians. De Falsis Deis too sees many benefits to allowing the vultures swoop around their land, they eat both rotting meat and even the bones of the prey which keep the land clean. A law is known, the vultures are forbidden to feast upon cubs/lions while it’s also forbidden to ever kill a vulture. Many birds take it upon themselves to scout the territory and report to the king, eyes are always watching around the pride and land. Many visitors are unnerved by the creatures who watch their every movement. While a vast majority of the birds dwell on the tallest mountain, a lot actually remain closer to the ground to mingle with the lions.

Bearded Vulture's fact
- The vultures aren't naturally red pigmented, they are born white but find red/orange clays to adorn their feathers.
- The color of feathers is a status symbol. The older, more seasoned the bird knows better dirt spots to get the color.
- Not normal vultures, while they do prey on dead things and small prey, they prefer bone/bone marrow. They have special stomachs with a PH of around 1.
- To break up the bones, they do peck it to shatter the bones but they actually tend to drop it from a special height onto rocks to shatter them into pieces.
- Old as heck, they live to 45.
