History
Diogenes was born into the pride De Falsis along with three sisters. First born, the only male and the rightful heir to the throne. He was raised within the customs of De Falsis Deis under his father Theseus to become king. As to their traditions, the heir was treated as an apprentice to Kingship and seeing as Theseus reign was a time of war, Diogenes became accustom to battle very quickly.
Of course, his reign couldn't begin officially until he was given his queen. Arrangements already in order, Diogenes was presented with Hestia. A young lioness born into their pride from a pair that were acknowledged positively by the King and Queen. Their bloodline had been in the pride for generations already and would make for a perfect match. Diogenes took to Hestia quite unlike he took to anyone else. Brash and paranoid as he was, the unstable male seemed to find some form of comfort in the dark beauty, Hestia, and she seemed to have a will over him that many speculated perhaps she bore some sorts of magic of the old gods. Whatever it was no one had the time to truly question it for when they came into their rule the wars of his father were passed down to him.
The King, Theseus, had fallen in battle.
Diogenes and Hestia had managed to end the wars, but during those plights his Queen had received a nasty wound to one of her hind legs. Over time it grew worse and they became worried of sickness in her as an infection took hold. Not wanting to lose his Queen, Diogenes did the only thing he could do that gave him a chance to keep her. At great cost, Diogenes chewed the leg from his favored female.
His Queen survived.
In the years to come after her healing and peace in their kingdom, Diogenes and Hestia would be blessed with three sons in their first litter. These sons would be raised accordingly but each be doomed by their parents traits. Zeus, with his fathers temper, Baldr to be only second and overlooked, and Xerxes the princely runt with no duties, damned to his fathers paranoia at his popularity among their pride.
But even with discord in their own pride, Diogenes skeptical eye turns to other lands.

A faint rumbling in his chest as the king paced along his throne. The lionesses had been sent on a hunt, Zeus had been sent to take care of a disagreement by the bog and Baldr to help him settle, and Xerxes was off doing who knew what. That foolish son of his. Bore his pelt and so many of his own features, Diogenes found him hard to look at. If not for his shared features in his Queen the youngest prince might have been cast out. The rumbling subsided and his pace slowed to a careful stop.
The amethyst eyes of his queen. How only one of his sons been blessed with such an honor, Diogenes wondered with a pang if it was a sign that Xerxes was to rule. He often impressed upon his subjects the value and importance of Hestia's gaze. It was biblical. She was biblical, and given to him for great things. He snorted, shaking the darkness from his thoughts.
Too long had the fear plundered his mind of good will this morning. It was too early in the day for this. Thankfully his attention was grasped by a commotion from outside the cave. Their hunting party had returned.
"Ego sum fortunatus," he murmured to himself, praising his good fortune before lazily padding to the mouth of the cave where the golden reaches of the sun could beam upon his copper mane.
